About Summer School
Serbian as a Foreign Language Summer School, organized by Matica srpska – Society of Members in Montenegro, is intended for students of Serbian / Serbo-Croatian (coming from European and world universities), as well as for the Serbian diaspora (for persons over 18 years of age). Teaching entails learning the Serbian language (Ekavian and Ijekavian dialects, speaking skills, writing skills, grammar and lexical system) and is organized at three levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). The teaching activities include lectures by university professors in the field of the history of Serbian language, Serbian literature, film, science, philosophy, religion and history. In addition to the lectures, the students may also expect many extracurricular activities such as excursions, tours of cultural and historical monuments of Montenegro, poetry and folklore evenings…

Lectures
The school lasts for three weeks and classes are given every day from 9am to 1pm (excluding weekends). Taking into consideration the knowledge that the students show in the entrance test, three courses are organized (beginner, intermediate and advanced). At the end of the last working week, an assessment of the acquired knowledge in the form of a written test is carried out. Each participant who completes the program and the final test receives a certificate on passing the course successfully from the Matica srpska – Society of Members in Montenegro. Teaching involves learning the Serbian language (Ekavian and Ijekavian dialects):

  • speaking skills
  • writing
  • grammatical and lexical
  • system literature, science, film, culture

Extracurricular activities
Extracurricular activities include the organisation of enticing excursions, touring the coastal and mountain destinations (cruising the Bay of Boka Kotorska, rafting on the Tara River); visits to music, film and theatre festivals; sports activities, folklore school…
